PinSim at Pinball Expo Chicago
This year’s Pinball Expo in Chicago was an unforgettable experience for the PinSim team. Over several exciting days on the show floor, we had the chance to demo the PinSim controller to a wide range of pinball fans, young and old, many of whom were experiencing pinball in virtual reality for the very first time.
The response was incredible. Attendees lined up to try the controller paired with a VR headset, instantly understanding how PinSim bridges classic pinball feel with modern immersive technology. From seasoned pinball veterans to curious newcomers, people were smiling, laughing, and genuinely surprised at how natural and fun the experience felt.
One of the standout highlights of the show was sharing the floor with artist Brian Allen, who developed the Pinball Wizard art package featured on the PinSim controller. Having Brian there in person and seeing him “bless” the controller with his autograph; it was a special moment for us. His artwork brought an extra layer of authenticity and visual flair that resonated strongly with attendees.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Pinball legend Roger Sharpe took the controls and played on the PinSim controller, as did Roger Day. Watching such respected figures in the pinball world engage with PinSim was both humbling and energizing. Moments like those are a powerful reminder of how pinball continues to evolve while honoring its roots.
Overall, Pinball Expo Chicago delivered exactly what we love about the pinball community: creativity, history, innovation, and pure fun. The conversations, demos, autographs, and spontaneous reactions made it a memorable few days, and we’re grateful to everyone who stopped by, played, and shared their enthusiasm.
We left Chicago inspired, motivated, and excited for what’s next. If this year’s expo was any indication, the future of pinball-real, virtual, and everything in between, is in very good hands.
